Best of 2014 #3: Josh Nolan – Fair City Lights

Best of 2014 – #3
Josh Nolan – Fair City Lights (self-released)

31B5y5pOqiL._SL500_AA280_The two biggest influences on Josh Nolan‘s Fair City Lights each released their own albums this year: Bruce Springsteen mined his back catalog and tackled music of others on High Hopes while John Mellencamp pandered to the AARP crowd with Plain Spoken. And yet, the little-known kid from Kentucky trumped both with Fair City Lights.

Embodying the spirit and joy of rock and roll, Nolan is a welcome gift who proved great music can be made from sheer will and determination. I can’t wait to hear what Nolan comes up with next.

Read my review of Fair City Lights here, watch Nolan perform “Brave Heart, Too” below and purchase the album via iTunes.
